In this session we will share our unique approach to amplifying the voices of ALL students through an engaging process called YPAR. Engaging diverse teams of young people as action researchers provides opportunities for inquiry-based, collaborative youth-adult school leadership, dialogue, and advocacy for school improvement. Gathering and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data that captures the experiences of students and adults . This session will share YPAR strategies, tools, stories of youth voice and leadership that schools across the US are using to bring students to the table with adult partners to improve school climate, culture, safety, relationships, and engagement in learning. This activity-based session is designed for school leaders, teachers, student services staff and DEI specialists who want to learn more about how to engage students as "experts" in their schools, and leadership partners to improve schools for ALL students. Our session features a partnership between two long time practitioners, one of which worked and knows independent schools very well.
